A Niagara native, James grew up with many family pets, so his love for animals developed at a young age. Trained at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, he worked as a vet in the Flamborough area before joining the team at Grandview Animal Hospital. In December 2010, James became the owner of Grandview Animal Hospital. He enjoys building relationships with clients and their pets and has a special interest in internal medicine and animal nutrition. One of his favourite opportunities as a veterinarian was to travel to Tanzania with Christian Veterinary Missions to provide volunteer veterinary education, training and services. When he isn’t working, James enjoys hiking, boating, and spending time with family and friends. He lives in Niagara with his wife, Michelle, their four children and their many pets, including two dogs, cat, rabbit and rat. He’s also an active board member of Hamilton Regional Emergency Veterinary Clinic.
Ashley grew up on a hobby farm in Niagara, where her passion for animals began. After completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto, she pursued her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian at St. George’s University in Grenada, completing her final year at the University of Georgia. For the first three years of her career, Ashley worked at a busy, small animal hospital in Rome, NY. In 2014, she started working at Grandview Animal Hospital. She has a special interest in soft tissue surgery. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, staying active and spending time with her family — including her pets!
Born and raised in St. Catharines, Andrew is grateful to have the opportunity to return to the Niagara Region to do what he loves, meeting great people and caring for their pets. Pursuing his passions for medicine and teaching, Andrew earned his B.ScH and B.Ed at Queen's University in their Concurrent Education program, teaching both grade 5 and kindergarten students. Ultimately, he decided that coughing kindergarteners were not quite gross enough for him, and a year later began his journey at the Ontario Veterinary College. Andrew believes every animal should enjoy their trip to the vet, and proudly uses fear-free practices and plenty of treats to ensure every tail is wagging both on their way in and out of the clinic doors. He lives in Niagara with his partner-in-crime and fellow veterinarian, Emily, and their handsome Dalmatian, Dexter. When Andrew is not travelling to new places around the world, he enjoys playing hockey and volleyball, and somewhat enjoys cheering for the Buffalo Sabres (during the regular season, of course). Andrew looks forward to the privilege of taking care of your furry friends and meeting the wonderful people of Winona and beyond.
Emily graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College after completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. While she enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and prides herself on providing gold-standard care to all of her patients, Emily has a special interest in Small Animal Surgery and Preventative Medicine. During her career thus far, she has developed a well-rounded repertoire of surgical procedures, and is grateful to be able to offer them to pets in need within the Winona region and beyond. During her studies, Emily spent several months involved in the international project ‘Global Vets’ in South America, which gave her the opportunity to provide Veterinary care to those who otherwise would not have access to it, as well as exposure to many exotic species. Throughout her youth, she has been fortunate enough to live in 7 different countries, giving her a world-wide perspective on animal care, as well as an abundance of fun stories to share with her patients and clients. Emily is proud to be an advocate for fear-free handling of her patients and prioritizes positive re-enforcement during all of her consultations, as she believes every patient deserves to look forward to visiting the Vet. When she’s out of the clinic, she keeps busy by going on hikes and camping trips with her partner and their two-year-old Dalmatian, Dexter.

Having grown up with a variety of pets, Cindy knew from a young age that she wanted to work with animals. Her passion for the health and wellbeing of animals made her decision to pursue veterinary technology at the Ridgetown Campus of the University of Guelph an easy one. She graduated with honours in 2011 and joined the Grandview team shortly after that. In the clinic, she especially enjoys surgery, diagnostics and connecting with clients over the love of their pets. Cindy is busy as she works part-time and is raising a young family but loves spending time camping, taking road trips, and playing soccer. She has a soft spot for senior pets that need adopting and hopes to take home a rescue dog in the near future.
