A Niagara native, James grew up with many family pets, so his love for animals developed at a young age. Trained at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, he worked as a vet in the Flamborough area before joining the team at Grandview Animal Hospital. In December 2010, James became the owner of Grandview Animal Hospital. He enjoys building relationships with clients and their pets and has a special interest in internal medicine and animal nutrition. One of his favourite opportunities as a veterinarian was to travel to Tanzania with Christian Veterinary Missions to provide volunteer veterinary education, training and services. When he isn’t working, James enjoys hiking, boating, and spending time with family and friends. He lives in Niagara with his wife, Michelle, their four children and their many pets, including two dogs, cat, rabbit and rat. He’s also an active board member of Hamilton Regional Emergency Veterinary Clinic.
Ashley grew up on a hobby farm in Niagara, where her passion for animals began. After completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto, she pursued her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian at St. George’s University in Grenada, completing her final year at the University of Georgia. For the first three years of her career, Ashley worked at a busy, small animal hospital in Rome, NY. In 2014, she started working at Grandview Animal Hospital. She has a special interest in soft tissue surgery. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, staying active and spending time with her family — including her pets!
Emily graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College after completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. While she enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and prides herself on providing gold-standard care to all of her patients, Emily has a special interest in Small Animal Surgery and Preventative Medicine. During her career thus far, she has developed a well-rounded repertoire of surgical procedures, and is grateful to be able to offer them to pets in need within the Winona region and beyond. During her studies, Emily spent several months involved in the international project ‘Global Vets’ in South America, which gave her the opportunity to provide Veterinary care to those who otherwise would not have access to it, as well as exposure to many exotic species. Throughout her youth, she has been fortunate enough to live in 7 different countries, giving her a world-wide perspective on animal care, as well as an abundance of fun stories to share with her patients and clients. Emily is proud to be an advocate for fear-free handling of her patients and prioritizes positive re-enforcement during all of her consultations, as she believes every patient deserves to look forward to visiting the Vet. When she’s out of the clinic, she keeps busy by going on hikes and camping trips with her partner and their two-year-old Dalmatian, Dexter.
Tara grew up on the Stoney Creek mountain and always knew she was going to work in veterinary medicine. She graduated with an honours degree in Animal Biology from the University of Guelph, a Vet Office Management certificate from Mohawk College and a Veterinary Technician diploma with honours from Northern College. Tara is a self-described nerd, bookworm and sports addict. She enjoys spending time with her big family, which includes her rescue dog, Mopsy, and her three cats, Ace, Edison and Emma.
Olivia obtained her diploma from University of Guelph, Ridge town campus in May of 2018. Right out of college she started her experience at a local 24 hour emergency clinic. She became apart of the Grandview team in April of 2021 and is loving meeting our wonderful clients and caring for their amazing fur babies. Olivia is in charge of running our social media pages, test your knowledge with her Tuesday Trivia's on our Instagram stories every Tuesday! In her spare time Olivia enjoys relaxing at home with her husband and their two kitty's Mando & Boba Fett. She enjoys taking pictures of nature and attending car shows & rock concerts.

Brooke has lived in the town of Smithville her entire life and her love for animals started from a very young age. She grew up caring for her many pets including miniature horses, goats, chickens, a guinea pig as well as dogs and cats. Pursuing her love she graduated from the University of Guelph, Ridgetown campus in October 2020. She worked at a few other clinics but recently joined our team at Grandview Animal Hospital in April 2021 and immediately felt like part of the staff family. She enjoys being a dog mom to her little chihuahua mix rescue named Rascal, who has taught her that little dogs are just as great as the big dogs. She enjoys being outside in the warmer months when she isn’t working and spending time with friends and her many family members on the weekends.
Having grown up with a variety of pets, Cindy knew from a young age that she wanted to work with animals. Her passion for the health and wellbeing of animals made her decision to pursue veterinary technology at the Ridgetown Campus of the University of Guelph an easy one. She graduated with honours in 2011 and joined the Grandview team shortly after that. In the clinic, she especially enjoys surgery, diagnostics and connecting with clients over the love of their pets. Cindy is busy as she works part-time and is raising a young family but loves spending time camping, taking road trips, and playing soccer. She has a soft spot for senior pets that need adopting and hopes to take home a rescue dog in the near future.
Growing up along 20 mile creek, Maggie has always had an interest for all sorts of different animals. She started working at animal rescues from a young age and has been on the path to working with animals ever since. With years of experience of customer service Maggie started working as a veterinary receptionist at a small animal clinic before joining our team in Feb. 2021 as an assistant. In her spare time Maggie enjoys reading, hiking and playing video games with her three siblings. And of course spending time with her rescue cat Minnie and her two snakes Pugsley and Tonks.
Josephine joined our health care team in the fall of 2016 and has been a great addition to our front office staff. She grew up in nearby Hamilton and has an administrative background. Whether you speak with Josephine on the phone or in-person at the front desk, her genuine love for animals shines through, and she would be happy to assist you and your pet in any way she can! In her downtime, Josephine loves spending time outdoors, on the beach, or with her beloved cats Oreo, Luna and Sammi.
Angela was new to the Veterinary field when she joined Grandview as a Receptionist in November 2018. A lifelong resident of the Hamilton/Stoney Creek area, she brings several years of experience in a variety of customer service roles and is one of the friendly voices you’ll hear when you call our office. Angela spends her spare time reading, renovating her century-old home and spending time with her family and her cat, Jack.
